Exsanguination

New thing from one of the guitar players of my favorite local band back when I was in high school... Sounds pretty much exactly how you'd want/ expect ie: A total riff-fest, equal parts Dismember, Seance, Nihilist, etc. With killer raspy vocals and melodies ala Sacrilege (SWE).

This will probably mean very little to anyone who grew up outside Massachusetts (and who isn't a huge fucking nerd), but I just found a piece of semi-lost media that I've been obsessively tracking down for almost 30 years now...

This video was a huge piece of my childhood and I'm sooooo stoked to finally see it again.

Eternal Suffering

Grinding crushing DM brutality from south-suburban MA with what have to be some of the lowest tuned guitars I've ever fucking heard. YMMV but I absolutely love this album and I've always felt like Eternal Suffering were kinda MA's answer to bands like (early) Afterbirth, Pyrexia, and Dehumanized.

Monnier

Super burly grind equal parts Nasum, Wormrot, and Pig Destroyer with the chick from Flagitious Idiosyncrasy In The Dilapidation on vox? Can't fucking beat that.

Terzij de Horde

Blazing fast black metal filtered through screechy/ chaotic late 90's metallic hardcore and moments of monolithic riff-churn that bring to mind "Enemy of the Sun" era Neurosis.

Put another way: This sounds like the album Mork Gryning would have recorded after listening to a fuck-ton of Orchid, Shai Hulud, and Counterblast.

Killer stuff.

The Locust

Damn, I guess Gabe Serbian died? Never met him, but I saw The Locust a ton of times between the late 90's and mid 00's... Huge favorite of mine when I was fresh out of high school and terminally pissed off at the entire fucking world.
